The Krewe Of Sgian Dubh Gives Back To The Community
Charity Events
The Krewe has always given back to the community and is, as such, a service organization (albeit in kilts). Throughout the year, we make appearances at various events throughout Central Louisiana to include the Blessing of the Beer, The Annual Mardi Gras Classic Cars and Cheerleader Parade, as well as supporting local musicians and craftsmen in various shows.
By far, our biggest event culminates at the end of the year with our Annual Saint Andrews Dinner where the proceeds from this go toward a deserving community organization. In the past we have supported Coats for Kids, CMVA (Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association), The Manna House, and others. This year, we are supporting the Family Justice Center.
Recently, the Krewe embarked on another mission near and dear to our hearts in the establishment of a Scholarship Fund in memory of long-time member and Krewe Chaplain, Kenn Gordan through the Kenn Gordan Memorial Scholarship Fund.
