Reverend Kennith Ashley Gordon Memorial Scholarship
Reverend Kennith Ashley Gordon Memorial Scholarship
Kenn, as he was affectionately known, was a loving husband, father, pastor and friend. He had a passion for life and for Jesus and showed love to everyone he knew or met. Kenn has always had a love for Christ, but after the loss of his brother, he was called to ministry and surrendered himself to that calling. Kenn attended Louisiana College (now Louisiana Christian University) while serving with various church ministries. He was pastor at a number of churches over his 18-year tenure.
Kenn was also passionate about his Scottish ancestry and culture. As a member of the Krewe Of Sgian Dubh he never missed an opportunity to educate others on his Scottish heritage and would sometime be the catalyst for others investigating their own ancestry and culture.
Left to cherish Kenn’s memory are his wife, three sons and two daughters as well as his extended family, friends, church family, and fellow Scotsmen.
In memory of Kenn, the Krewe Of Sgian Dubh is sponsoring the Kennith Ashley Gordon Memorial Scholarship, a one-time cash award of $500 and is available to high school seniors living in the Central Louisiana parishes of Allen, Avoyelles, Catahoula, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Vernon and Winn.
